Mica tape consists of phlogopite mica (or synthetic mica), treated with special silicone resin and fiberglass which are used as a basis. This mica tape is used as dielectric barrier between the cores of cables in case of fire or cables exposure to high temperatures.
The tape is used in power flame-retardant cables with insulation from halogen free polymer compounds, and in power cables with low smoke and gas emission. The sizes of tapes are individually discussed with customers.
